Linda Murdock

Linda Murdock, author of A Busy Cook's Guide to Spices, talks about life in Colorado, culinary spices, books, and crafty, creative people.

I have been writing books since 2001, when I came out with one on spices. My husband was allergic to many of the additives used by food companies, so I began researching for alternatives. That's when I first delved into the varied world of flavorings. Since then I have written three other books. You can find out all about them (or even buy them) on my publisher's website. There is a free crossword puzzle based on Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series on that site. Spice lovers can go to their local spice shop and if my book isn't there, feel free to ask them why not! The books are:

• A Busy Cook's Guide to Spices, How to Introduce New Flavors to Everyday Meals
• A Busy Cook's Guide to Flavor-Packed Cookies & Bars
• Almost Native How to Pass as a Coloradan
• Mystery Lover's Puzzle Book

Why a Website

As the author of four books in three unrelated fields, I felt that a website of my own was in order, especially one in which I could do what I wanted. Think of it as free bonus material for those who want to:

• find out about culinary herbs and spices;
• know more about things to do and places to see in Colorado;
• meet others who make and sell one-of-a-kind crafty, creative gifts;
• see what I've been reading via book reviews;
